Minutes away from restaurants, shops, and a variety of activities. The event centre, gym, hockey rink, library, pool and Casino are all within a 5min walk. It's the perfect place for families or small groups of up to 6 looking to explore wineries and breweries, small groups for a golfing vacation. There is no better place if you are attending a convention, or concert, looking to take advantage of the beautiful beaches, skiing at Apex (35min drive), or mountain biking. There are three bedrooms (1 king room, 2 Queens rooms) and a large living room area. We provide a unique concierge service through a touch screen that can direct and send you maps to wineries, restaurants, breweries, and more. It also allows you to communicate directly with us (through text message) should you experience any issues during your stay.
Enjoy high-end hotel quality beds, high-speed wifi, a BBQ, and a large cable package with Netflix and Prime. There are also many family board games available for your use. The Condo is remote working friendly with a printer, screen and desk. Our guests tell us that the kitchen is one of the most equipped they have ever seen. It is very well equipped with everything you could need, including an air fryer. And the complimentary laundry room (and detergent) is there for your use if needed.
Sip our custom-roasted coffee in the sun in the mornings on the East facing deck, and enjoy covered shade BBQs in the afternoons. You will also have access to a private parking garage to park your vehicle, store your bicycles, or store your sports equipment (golf clubs, skis, bicycles, strollers, hockey equipment, etc.).
We believe you are on holiday or in Penticton to visit - not clean. We want your experience to be positive and memorable. As such, we do not leave you a long list of cleaning you must do on your departure. We do ask you to be tidy and respectful of the property. However, when you leave, we only ask you to load and turn on the dishwasher and take your garbage out to the bin. Please leave the rest to our cleaners.
We support a friendly neighbour policy which helps us to promote an enjoyable vacation experience. No parties or events are allowed, but we allow you to bring family and friends over for a visit or dinner (in small amounts). However, we require the name of all guests staying at our Condo - this is for insurance and Strata purposes. Thank you for being so understanding.
About the Owner
Hi, we are Debbie and Dale and are excited to invite you to Grandma's Elephant Hideaway. Dale's Mother loved Elephants, and we started this venture after seeing the fun they had with the Elephant Cottage Bed and Breakfast back in the '90s. Unfortunately, she is gone, but now it is our turn to share our love of Elephants with you. We donate to elephant sanctuaries annually, and some of your stays support that. We both enjoy travelling and visiting our kids - and especially our twelve grandkids. You may see us at a local winery, or a brewery (Dales's favourite is Hwy 97). While you stay at our favourite hideaway, you will enjoy some special touches, like locally roasted coffee (and we may have roasted it), some local treats, warm cookies and more. We promise to do what we can to make your stay enjoyable. If you have suggestions, we hope you will let us know. Dale has travelled extensively, volunteering to help local communities and businesses recover from disasters. Our venture into Short Term Rentals comes as a result of the thousands of nights spent in hotel rooms. I have been fortunate to travel with him at times. We have tried to combine the things we do like to have when we stay somewhere and done our best to eliminate the ones we do not like. Always happy to get feedback on how we could make it even better. During your stay We like to give space to guests but are always available when needed.
